Small One, like the donkey of the famed story, narrated by Bing Crosby, is a gentle donkey past his prime. Long years of working hard have made him weak. Though he eats as much as the other donkeys, he cannot handle the same loads. One of his ears is broken and he looked a bit weathered. But now he is a home, overlooking his kingdom here in Castlemaine. His load is lighter now and his step has quickened as he contemplates the journeys we will head off on.
